Employment Position Details.......

Now Hiring: Daycare Cook/Kitchen Staff – Cover Leave of Absence until end of Aug (Monday-Friday, 9 am – 2pm). May be extended longer.

General Description:  To work as an employee of Treasure Garden Childcare Center and be responsible preparation of nutritious meals and delivering lunch to centre classrooms.

Work Experience:

  • Excellent cook, experienced in European cuisine suitable for young children
  • Providing healthy, non-processed home cooking for 30+ diners 

Skills/Abilities/Certificates: 

  • Strong listening, oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and knowledge in maintaining a clean and safe kitchen and daycare environment
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Food Guide and in applying it in daily menus
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships with the rest of the Childcare Team and children in the centre’s care
  • Proven track record of trustworthiness, dependability and ethical behaviour.
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
  • Safe Food Handling Certificate
  • Criminal Check and Vulnerable Sector Check, current within 6 months
  • Fully vaccinated against coronavirus

 

Early Childhood Educator Position NOW HIRING

Major responsibilities:

The successful candidate will provide training, support and mentorship to program staff within our centre. Work in partnership with management and educators to ensure all policies and procedures are implemented and followed and build lasting relationships with our wonderful children and families

Education, Experience and Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education
  • Registered, and a member in good standing with the College of ECEs 
  • Current and clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Current Standard First and CPR Level C
  • Minimum 2 years working with children 12 months to 5 years of age 
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of current Child Care and Early Years Act
  • Demonstrated knowledge with "How Does Learning Happen?"
  • Experienced or knowledgeable with the Emergent Curriculum
  • Ability to lead and work within a team
  • Maintaining positive and supportive relationship with parents and families
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated, well developed problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Fully vaccinated against coronavirus

Teacher's Assistant

Major responsibilities:

The successful candidate will work with the ECE to provide stimulating environments for children in their care; to enrich social, emotional, intellectual, language and physical development.  Through an emergent play based approach, each TA will help in facilitating learning that is consistent with the philosophy of our child care center.

Education, Experience and Requirements

  • Experience or College Diploma
  • Current and clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Current Standard First and CPR Level C
  • Preferred experience working with children 12 months to 5 years of age
  • Observing and monitoring children activities at all times
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Maintain a clean and safe classroom, preparation of snacks and deal with minor injuries
  • Maintaining positive and supportive relationship with staff, teachers and children
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated, well developed problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Above all, a deep love for children and the desire to provide excellent care with a positive and caring attitude
  • Fully vaccinated against coronavirus
